On November 15, 2011 we celebrated! In the last two plus years plenty of great things have been accomplished. Each task force had the opportunity to fill in the crowd on their successes & their upcoming goals. Followed by the chance for everyone to talk in groups with those that shared their interest - Community Garden, GreenSteps & Dam Park Revitalization.
Barbara updates on Community Garden.
Discussion at the GreenStep table about downtown: bike lanes, greenery (trees, shrubs, hanging baskets?), attracting people from the bike trail/371 area to the Dam, & much more!

In today's (9/29/2011) edition of the Pine River Journal there is an article highlighting the free energy consultations that 10+businesses in Pine River received from Energy Smart, a program of the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce. These assessments were lined up in part by previous GreenCorps Member, John van der Linden. Yay John! Check back for further information regarding follow-ups to these assessments and more!

Our GreenCorps Member John van der Linden finished his term and additional volunteer hours in Pine River last week. He has migrated south, like many of his feathered friends will soon do, unlike them, he'll be stopping for a couple of months in Iowa. It was a treat to have John's assistance on the GreenStep program and with many other energy conservation projects here. His easy laugh and enthusiasm will be missed.
